We are writing to inform you that we will soon be discontinuing server operations for our BURGprotect systems. This decision was made carefully and after extensive analysis to ensure a future-oriented and sustainable direction for our company. We would like to explain the reasons transparently:
- Technological development and compatibility
The field of security technology is subject to constant technological change, and older server structures often no longer meet the latest technical standards or can no longer be updated. In order to continue to guarantee you the best possible quality and security, BURG-WÄCHTER KG has decided to switch off the servers for the BURGprotect systems and to focus its resources on new, innovative, future-oriented technologies.
- Security requirements and compliance
Maintaining the highest security standards and legal requirements, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), is our top priority. However, maintaining server operations for older systems requires significant investments in updates and security protocols. To ensure a high level of data security in the long term, we have decided to discontinue server operations and focus on developing new solutions that meet the latest legal compliance requirements.
- Efficiency and sustainability
Maintaining the servers for a few active older systems is associated with a high consumption of energy and resources, which runs counter to our strategy of sustainable corporate development. The shutdown is a step towards reducing energy consumption while simultaneously using our resources efficiently for the development of more sustainable, energy-efficient products and structures.
- Service and FAQ
We understand that this decision has an impact on customers who use BURGprotect systems. For this reason, we will keep the servers online until 01.04.2025. The FAQ will remain online until further notice and is still available to answer any questions you may have regarding offline operation.
